A Little More About Me

January 10, 2013

I had a friend tell me that I should give more information about myself to help people decide whether they would want me to be their mentor (and tormentor), so here is a little something more about me. I am Charmel Delos Santos, I am really just a mom, who have three young children, I live in Sydney, Australia and I started to invest over 10 years ago because it is important for me to spend as much time as I can with my kids and also go to visit my family back home in the Philippines. I work as a systems analyst part-time (*I need a rest from the household chores!) I like to sing and travel, was a beauty-queen wannabe “Binibining Pilipinas 1998” so all those “slightly crazy” ideas on investing would come from my feminine-fun-loving side. Another author/publisher said to me this “soft info” is not enough so maybe I should mention that I have been entrepreneurial and grew with our family’s export business since I was young, graduated Cum Laude in International Studies from Miriam College in the Philippines, and Youth Ambassador of Goodwill in the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program, Toastmaster of the Year at Chatswood Communicators Club, member and fundraiser of United Nations Women Australian National Committee plus all the other “formal background” in investing below.

I had a long and bumpy experience in investing, losing all of my capital at the start, but I persevered and trained with Dr. Van Tharp (trading coach and best-selling author) and by applying what I learned, immediately became a profitable and relaxed investor. In fact from 2008, when the Global Financial Crisis hit the markets, I was able to grow my retirement fund steadily, and regularly earning income through investing for all those “loving expenses”. My friends, in the playgroup, overseas who know about my investing activities/see me tinkering with my iPhone every now and then checking the stock prices, all wanted to know how to invest in stocks, and that’s how I started my blog. I could not contain myself, or maybe it’s God’s way of creating more abundance, so I continued to share what I know, one-to-one with friends, eventually I published a book and doing talks and workshops at IBM Philippines, Entrepreneurs School of Asia, MIBX Qatar, partnering with the PSE Academy for “Women’s Investment Program”. My book is called “High Heeled Traders”, it is a book on stocktrading for women, written with storytelling and girlie analogies in shopping, fashion, and shoes. I wrote the book in that way for women to have fun while learning given our many activities around the clock!

I know my workshop fees looks steep – compared to other local seminars. However, these are results-oriented workshop that is designed to show how mindset and personality affects trading, how to develop rules (systems) to find gems for building wealth (I have PSE-specific examples too!), market concepts, how to operate the business with a trading plan and structured decision-making etc. It’s better to learn and adopt ideas and mindset through storytelling, structured instruction and experience that we will achieve with fun exercises in addition to presented material. After the workshop, you get tools, mindset, procedures, and all important business plan that you can just customize according to your personal edges (I will also give examples of what they are, help you find yours) and execute for a more relaxed and profitable investing. As a bonus to early registrants, I will provide evaluation of written trading plans (which you just answer, I provide the template, no more wondering what questions you should put in there!), so you do not waste opportunities and achieve good results. (How good? You have to do your part, mine is documented in the links below ).

2012 was a good year in PSE, and this bullrun is set to continue. Are you happy with your profits? If not, and you are still reading this, you are obviously interested in your investing results, the next step is to grow in your mastery of this business by attending our workshops. Sorry to tell you that TA and FA, tips, trial and error in the market, is not enough and needlessly make things complicated and painful even. In our workshop, you will finally learn exactly how to invest with profit-taking exits and expectation models (along with the concepts cited above), fix your mistakes, and develop discipline given the many distractions of life. Oh, you might be interested how I achieved spectacular results in a stock picking game results of over 13% in 6 weeks, just by spending 1 hour to set up.
