The time came. The King of Thailand passed on, the well-loved, most-revered King in modern history. I have a lot of Thai friends and feel share their sadness in losing a great leader and peacemaker — there is an ache knowing how well the King took care of them as they lived in a country very similar to mine (tropical land with politics that is just as hot!).
Anyway, I do have to point out that the King is not only most loved, but also the wealthiest royal in the world. He owns stocks 🙂 — two prominent investments is Siam Cement Group ( five core business units: chemicals, paper, cement, building materials and distribution) and Siam Commercial Bank. This is my opinon but I think the significance of these investments are that they are used for nation-building, improving the lives of people. I know there are these fun, “in the now” stocks, BUT know there are these investments that make the richest the richest 🙂
