High Heeled Traders

Island holiday - up early for seashells

I can’t help it.  Even if I am on holiday (Australia school holiday still has 2 weeks to go)  I check the news and the price of the shares.  It’s routine I guess.   Today though the news came out about France losing its AAA credit rating — arrrggghhhhh — that’s enough to shake me out of the  Christmas  holiday mode.

So let’s look at the headlines :

1. US Market fell only slightly – perhaps because France credit downgrade has been expected.  After all these things do not happen overnight.

2. China is reported to be hoarding more gold.  As I said in my first post for the year – Bling in 2012!

3.  Oil will continue to stay at the high 90’s level – this will be pressured by the movements of the US Dollar as well as demand from  developing and fast-emerging nations.

So let’s say as 2011 was a rollercoaster year, so will be 2012. Better get  more comfortable with the volatility and learn the strategies appropriate to the market type  and markets being traded which will be key to abundance and prosperity for the year.

As the market would tend to swing wildly,  I intend to prepare in the following ways:

1. Plan and execute position sizing with due care.

2. Adopt short-term trading as market moves can reverse quite suddenly.

3. Aim to attain peak performance with useful beliefs, especially abundance and gratitude.

4. Aim to be in top physical condition to manage the demands of the business and current lifestyle

5.  Prepare for growth —  once the desired levels of profitability and performance is reached, step up to the next markets to trade or strategy.

You might have known by now, the world is round and where there is  crisis in one area, there is new prosperity in another.    I mentioned before that Southeast Asia is a growth area and here I am in the Philippines now, reporting “LIVE”.  Will be posting on the developments on this market in the next few days.  (In between the catch up with family and friends, book promotion and varied and healthy dining options!)

But whatever it is you do, remember that every day is a new day!  I share this sunrise from our  island hometown.
