High Heeled Traders

I hope you all had a good break having fun and / or resting over the Christmas break.  My kids didn’t want to go to bed till late and are still asleep. I would have done so too, had I not been so excited to finish the workshop notes.  I am fleshing out  the “third day of the workshop” and while I’ve always known the content that need to go in here, where we will discuss Mistakes in investing and trading,  I look  back  with awe at my whole experience so far.

When  I first started investing, I did so in real estate, and while there are some things different from my expectations, like those “loopholes” that another party’s  legal team can come up with in the course of the sale, real estate is a much more regulated investment (mostly in Australia / NZ ).

However, investing, especially active investing (trading) in the stockmarket, was really so different from my expectations.  I expected, given the available  information and instruction in the broker’s sites and stock exchange sites, that  I will be dealing with theories, numbers, formulas…  but I discovered (much later!) that this is not what trading is about.  If you read my book,  I happily tell everyone that I don’t “sweat the small stuff” about the indicators and high probability entries because that’s not where the money is made.  Yeah. Shocking!

Making consistent money in the stockmarket takes a great deal of self-mastery, of internal control.  In dealing with the risks, in planning, in taking profits. It’s a lot like life as I’ve found out.  So to those of you whose lives are wonderful and you are already in a state of peace and positivity, you are going to have an easy time.  For those of us mortals 🙂  and have to work through layers of issues, go through process of learning and unlearning.   Just keep at it.  You would know what problems you need to deal with. The answer is inside you.  Just tackle the obvious ones first and when you uncover something else, be thankful.  Keep up your spirit, you can do it.

“The human spirit is as expansive as the cosmos. This is why it is so tragic to belittle yourself or to question your worth. No matter what happens, continue to push back the boundaries of your inner life. The confidence to prevail over any problem, the strength to overcome adversity and unbounded hope—all reside within you”.:-Daisaku Ikeda (thanks my friend Muhammad Hafidz Zainal Abidin)

And to you all wondering what there is to know about investing profitably, I invite you to my workshops / webinars happening next year.   I can not promise dates for the next workshops (webinar replays will be available) as I have investment goals to pursue and I want to focus on those for most of next year.   If you are ready to step up, find out more at this link.
