And we are off! Earnings season started with the market diving, and this is a good time to keep your eyes wide open for the bargains. I have been waiting for this new quarter of earnings reports and seeing the recent run up of prices, I’m feeling good having just patiently watched the prices. This is going to be an all-important earnings season with rate hike and politics influencing the market as well, so better be invested in the stocks representing good value.
While I will be looking for bargains, I would steer clear of sectors that are sensitive to policy changes like
1) utilities – due to the rate hike diminishing their allure
2) healthcare – both presidential candidates say the meds are too expensive
3) banking – heard of some money market changes that will make it expensive for banks to get funds.
So there will be very profitable opportunities in the next weeks but we do have to be careful also.
